Alamedin gorge is seemingly the most favorite place among Bishkek citizens and visitors. It’s situated 30 kilometers south from Bishkek. But the main attraction of Alamedin gorge is the great number of springs with healing properties. Many of them from streams falling into Alamedin river. Sanatorium “Warm springs” was built here many decades ago and named after healing springs. The medical effect of the high-mountain climate (the sanatorium is situated 1.800 meters above the sea level) is known beyond Kyrgyzstan and the swimming-pools with the hot radon water are prescribed by doctors for healing many diseases.
The gorge is notable for its diverse flora and fauna. Very beautiful waterfalls attract the attention of all visitors again and again. Almost every place of the Alamedin gorge opens wonderful landscapes for visitor’s eyes. These are rocky mountains with peaks covered with clouds and glaciers glittering in the san. Usachenko peak is one of the most famous natural places of interest, it is about 4650 meters high.
Comfortable cottages, fining hall and recreation zone are available. Alamedin gorge can boast with huge territories good for spontaneous picnics and mountaineering camps and also mountain climbers – amateurs who have chosen this wonderful root.
